Dominican Republic beefs up security on Haiti protest

Santo Domingo.- Defense minister Maximo W. Muñoz on Wednesday said security a the Dominican Embassy and all national agencies in Haiti has been beefed up, after groups in that country announced protest against alleged racism.
Civil society groups in Haiti called for a march Wednesday to protest alleged racist demonstrations against Haitians in Dominican Republic.
The official, speaking after a mass to mark Armed Forces Day, said security was also bolstered along the Dominican-Haitian border, to guarantee sovereignty.
