New flights coming from Germany to east region: Arecoa.com

Berlin.- Dominican Republic’s participation in Berlin’s Tourism Exchange ITB is already yielding results for the country’s tourism as evidenced by the announcement Thursday of a new flight to the Caribbean country, arecoa.com reports.

Tourism minister Francisco Javier García said German carrier Eurowings, of the Lufthansa Group, agreed to fly to the country for the first time, and chose the La Romana and Punta Cana regions.

He said Eurowings will fly twice weekly from Cologne to La Romana and Punta Cana starting next winter.

Condor airline will also start two new flights to Punta Cana, one from Munich and one from Frankfurt.

"the German tourism is having an extraordinary off to the Dominican Republic; in 2014 the German market regains its brilliance in growth toward our country, " Garcia said tin a press conference in Berlin.
