Dominican authorities repatriate illegal Haitian immigrants

Pedernales, DR.– Amid tight security measures and after the recent events that caused the closure of the Dominican Consulate, soldiers from the Border Security (Cesfront) and the National Army continued Friday withthe repatriations of Haitians.

Today,despite the complex situation in Haiti, a group of Haitian immigrants was arrested and taken to the border security facilities, before they were returned to their territory.

During the last week Dominican soldiers have been carrying out raids and the illegal immigrants caught have been deported to Haiti by truck.
