Agents seize 70 bricks of drug at Caucedo Port

Santo Domingo.- The National Drugs Control Agecny (DNCD) on Sunday seized 70 bricks of a white powder presumably cocaine or heroin, in a container at Puerto Caucedo, bound for Rotterdam, Holland.

The DNCD said it opened a investigation to detain and charge all those behind the failed drug transfer.

“The 70 packages were inside container # CMAU0603647 at the cargo hold of the ship Spirit of Hamburg, with anomalies that were detected by military security of DP Port World,” the DNCD said.

It said the irregularities alerted the security at the port, which proceeded to open the container, in the presence of a deputy prosecutor, to find three bundles of cloth, with the 70 packages of cocaine or heroin.
