Entities mark 40 years since journalist Orlando Martinez’s murder

Santo Domingo.- The Santo Domingo State University (UASD) and Dominican Journalists Guild (CDP) on Tuesday laid a wreath to mark the 40th anniversary of the murder of journalist Orlando Martinez.

UASD chief dean Ivan Grullón said during 40 years the University has laid a wreath to pay homage to the journalist murdered March 17, 1975 during the 12 years of the regime headed by Joaquín Balaguer .

CDP president Olivo de León lauded Martinez’ virtues and listed the contributions to the youth of his time.

The ceremony was held at the site where the reporter was gunned down on Jose Contreras Av, near Alma Mater St, El Vergel.
