Old ID card no longer valid for voting in Dominican Republic’s 2016 election

Santo Domingo.– Central Electoral Board (JCE) president Roberto Rosario called on political parties to join the program the JCE is implementing around the country seeking all Dominicans have their new identity and electoral card (cedula).

He pointed out that the old ID card "is long gone" and asked party leaders to refrain from seeking a vote with it.

Rosario announced that the JCE will install ID card registration centers in all New York counties in addition to the ones at the Dominican consulates so that Dominicans living abroad can obtain this important document.
