Govt. will not allow freedom of speech to be violated: President

Santo Domingo.– President Danilo Medina yesterday affirmed that his government will never allow freedom of expression and the right to information to be violated.

"Once again I want to take this opportunity to express that in the depths of my being, we reserve sincere appreciation and deep respect for the generosity with which journalists contribute to the development of the nation by disseminating accurate information and wise orientations that enrich the formation of public opinion," Medina pointed out during a lunch with journalists at the National Palace..

The head of state in advance congratulated reporters and journalists on occasion of Journalists National Day, which will be commemorated on Sunday, coinciding with Easter Sunday.
