PRD councilman arrested for drug trafficking

Santo Domingo.– Police antinarcotics (DICAN) agents arrested a councilman of the Dominican Revolution Party (PRD) in Jimani accused of running a ring that allegedly imported marijuana from Haiti.

According to police spokesman Jacobo Mateo Moquete, councilman Luis Domingo Medina Trinidad was arrested with four other men after police seized nearly 370 pounds of marijuana following a month long investigation.

Medina Trinidad, who serves as councilman of the Independencia province (southwest), was arrested with Luis Raul Reyes Alcantara, Angel Montero Felix, Issa Emmanuel Sena Rivas and Miguel Angel Feliz, who are being interviewed by DICAN agents.
