NY-bound flight returns to Dominican Republic on bomb threat

Santo Domingo.- A JetBlue aircraft was returned to Las Americas Airport Thursday nightone hour-and-10 minutes after takeoff of New York-bound flight 1008, when anunidentified man allegedly threatened to set off a bomb he was carrying.

The incident unleashed panicat the airport, where security agents searched the plane on the north ramp ofthe runway, after escorting the suspected terrorist on a gurney and handcuffed.

Meanwhile thepassengers deplaned and were taken to the terminal by bus, and were subjectedto further checks including a dog sniffinf for explosives.
