Foreign minister meets with Spanish counterpart

Madrid.– Dominican Foreign Affairs minister Andres Navarro met in Spain with his counterpart Jose Manuel Garcia Margallo, and Secretary of Interior Francisco Vazquez, to whom he reported on the consultation process with the diaspora involved in the creation of the Agency of Dominicans Overseas (INDEX), an entity aimed at protecting Dominicans living abroad.

Navarro said the agency was created as part of the new foreign policy that is applied in the Dominican Republic following President Danilo Medina’s instructions.

He added that the agency will have a firm goal of defending human rights and social protection of the Dominican diaspora, a group that also contributes to the development of the nation.
