Political expert predicts 2016 elections will be a war of candidates

Santo Domingo.– Presidential, congressional and municipal elections of 2016 in the Dominican Republic will be tough, long, complex, expensive and full of "surprises," which will force the candidates to prepare for a "real electoral war."

According to journalist and political analyst Sergio Cedeño, who spoke at the conference "Dominican Elections of 2016", next year’s electoral process will be "very complex."

He suggested the presidential candidates to prepare for a war that will be intense. "Candidates will have to deal with rejection rate, the hard vote, as well as other aspects.

Contrary to what Dominican politicians believe, Cedeño said, the use of social networks to influence the voters "is still in its infancy" in the Dominican Republic.
