Public Health issues alert on 53 confirmed dengue deaths

Santo Domingo.- The PublicHealth Minister on Monday issued an alert to deal with the outbreak of dengue acrossthe country, with 53 officially recorded deaths.

Public Health ministerAltagracia Guzman said she still firmly believes that no one should die fromthe disease and blamed them on poor management of the cases at health facilities.

The concern over thespread of the disease prompted Education minister Carlos Amarante to instruct schoolprincipals to assign students as obligatory homework to eliminate breedingsites of dengue-carrying mosquitoes around their home and neighborhood.
