Dam cleanup deaths now at 3, Dominican govt. still mum

Santiago.- The workerTomas Hernandez, 36, who was part of the group of 27 workers infected at Taveradam in Baitoa, died in a Santiago clinic Wednesday, bringing to three thenumber of fatalities in the tragedy which the government has yet to respond.
The workers contractedhistoplasmosis, a disease caused by contact with the feces of bats and somebirds, while cleaning the gallery of tunnels under the dam.
Baitoa and Sabana Iglesia media reportthat Brígido Acosta, 36, and Jose Ignacio Diaz (Yorky), 21, had passed away fromthat disease, whereas Cristian Espinosa, 29, and Emmanuel Ureña, 19 are under acoma.
