The Web heralds print media´s death: Veteram reporter warns

Santo Domingo.- Oneof Dominican Republic´s most seasoned journalists based abroad on Thursdaywarned that Web media´s development and global impact threaten to wipe out the majornewspapers around the world, which he affirms includes Dominican Republic.

Miguel Cruz Tejada saidthe digital media´s emergence has led to a decrease in print media circulation.

Interviewed by Moca-basedjournalist Nicolas Arroyo on Moca Vision Channel 6, the prominent correspondentof outlets elnuevodiario.com.do and diariolibre.com said Web media´s key advantagesare not only that they are free, but they can also be read from the comfort ofhome.

“But adding to allthis is the fact that reading Web newspapers the vast majority have images withoutstanding quality and seems like we’re watching a movie,” added thejournalism who´s been a correspondent in New York for the last 30 years, quoted by elnuevodiario.com.do.
