Downpours snarl commute, quench parched farms

Santo Domingo.- The prolonged downpours over Greater Santo Domingoand other regions snarled the Fridaymorning commute for thousands and flooded streets and houses, but welcomed byfarmers.

The National WeatherOffice (Onamet) meanwhile issued flash flood warnings for several provinces as heavyrains are expected for Friday.

Onamet said the rainswill be moderate to heavy over Greater Santo Domingo and several provinces accompaniedby thunderstorms today.
