Police raid shop which ´forged´ IDs for illegal aliens

Santiago.- The NationalPolice on Tuesday raided a photo studio next to Santiago´s Public Works Office whichallegedly forged identification documents for illegal aliens.

Police agents andJustice Ministry prosecutors arrested the owner of Fotoestudio Peña, on chargesof forging documents of the government program to regularize Haitian nationals.

Assistant DA AndrésPeña, who took part in the raid, said the studio functioned like a makeshift consulate,printing documents for illegal aliens in the country.

He several items wereseized on site, including printers, hard drives, ID making machines, amongothers. “More people are suspected in connection with this illegal activity sothe case will be investigated in depth.”
