International meeting on public procurement ends in Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo.– The Eleventh Annual Conference of the Inter-AmericanGovernment Procurement (RICG) concluded yesterday with the participation of representativesfrom 33 countries, who elected Chilean Trinidad Inostroza as the new presidentof the organization.

Dominican Republic Government Procurement director Yokasta Guzman,outgoing RICG president, hosted the three-day event held in Santo Domingo andpointed out that the countries of the region should consolidate mature goodpractices in public procurement as a way to improve people’s quality of life.

The Annual Conference is seen as the supreme instance ofdialogue, exchange, organization and management of the RICG, constituted as themost relevant technical forum for disseminating advances in the development ofgovernment procurement in the Americas.
