Agents nab 101 bricks of drug at Cap Cana Marina

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.-Antinarcotics (DNCD) agents and Justice Ministry officials on Tuesday morningseized 101 bricks presumably of cocaine or heroin in the trunk of a car parkedat Cap Cana Marina, moments before being shipped to Puerto Rico.

The agency said one ofits teams deployed from Santo Domingo with a search warrant raided a three storybuilding located in the resort´s Marina, where they opened the trunk of an old Toyotato find the bricks.

In a press release theDNCD said they had been tipped off for several days that the drug was headed toPuerto Rico by sea, “but the traffickers apparently sought to create a diversion,opting to hide the drugs in the trunk of the old vehicle.”
