US envoy, top prosecutor huddle amid reports of yanked visa

Santo Domingo.-Dominican Republic´s Justice minister Francisco Dominguez and US ambassadorJames W. Brewster are holding a meeting Wednesday and although the agenda hasn’tbeen disclosed.

Nonetheless the meetingcomes amid reports that the US State Dept. canceled the visa of a Senator, who’sa senior member of the ruling PLD party.

Brewster arrived at Dominguez´soffice after 9am but no details were provided about the visit.

Local media report thatthe US has canceled the visa of beleaguered senator Felix Bautista (PLD-SanJuan de la Maguana), who was recently acquitted of charges he embezzled morethan US$100 million while director of the State Works Supervisory EngineersOffice (OISOE).
