Govt. launches road safety program for the holidays

Santo Domingo.- PublicWorks minister Gonzalo Castillo on Tuesday launched the Christmas Road Assistanceand Protection Operation 2015 on all thoroughfares nationwide, with more than225 motorized patrols until January 15.

He said the services providedwill be reinforced with 25 new patrol cars, 20 mobile workshops, trucks,ambulances, medical personnel, emergency specialists, cranes and motorcycles thatwill take action in urban areas.

"The new unitswill be scattered on the main roads in addition to existing patrols across thecountry," Castillo said during the operation´s launch near the LasAmericas highway toll plaza.
