The ´power´ prompts dismissal of outspoken journalists

Santo Domingo.-Prominent journalists Marino Zapete and Edith Febles on Monday announced theirdeparture from the popular news and commentary program El Despertador of themedia group SIN, a step that leaves Dominican Republic without one of its mostoutspoken voices on TV.

The journalists saidthis will be their last week.

"Power took us out,"Zapete tweeted. "The last week of Edith Febles and I on Despertador beginstoday. Our journalism doesn’t fit into the business. Power took us out.”

Febles tweeted, "ourlast week in #ElDespertador begins. @ SIN24Horas dispensed with the services ofmzapete and myself as of Friday."

Both journalist beganreceiving support by become trending in the social networks.
