Dominican agents nab 1,200K cocaine ´headed to the US´

Santo Domingo.- The antinarcoticsagency (DNCD) seized 621 kilos (1,242pounds) of presumably cocaine or heroin on a fishing boat at the village LosCocos near the town Juancho, western Barahona province, which allegedly came fromVenezuela.

The DNCD said Venezuelannational Pedro Felipe Hernández was apprehended in connection with the drug was in bricks of one kilo each,that was bound for the US.

The drug was seizedaboard a 30 feet long fishing boat with two outboard motors of 200 horsepowereach.

The DNCD said the bustwas made jointly with the Dominican Navy, a Dominican Air Force helicopter, supportfrom ground troops and Joint Interagency Task Force-South (JIATF-S).
