Pretrial detention for suspect in telecom executive´s murder

Santo Domingo.- A Nacional District judge sent the accused to three months in jail toawait trial.

File.- NationalDistrict judge Honorio Suzana is set to arraign Tuesday morning the suspect in themurder of Claro telecom executive Ruben Nuñez Piña in the capital´s Mirador Surpark last Wednesday night.

Aida Kim Taveras, who accompaniedNuñez during the attack, picked Horacio Bautista out of a police lineup as theman who fatally stabbed the executive while they were sitting on a park bench.

Taveras told police sheand Nuñez were sitting on a park bench in, when Bautista approached to assault them,but was confronted by the victim.

She said Bautistastabbed Nuñez several times and took the victim´s wallet, his pants, a cellphoneand other items, and immediately fled the scene.
