France to continue helping fight drug trafficking, organized crime

Santo Domingo.- TheFrench government will continue to help Dominican Republic in its war on drug traffickingand organized crime during text year, according to an agreement signed by theantinarcotics agency (DNCD) and the envoy from the European nation.

DNCD president JulioCésar Souffront and French envoy José Gómez signed the agreement which amongother points, assigns a French technical expert to work directly with thecountry´s antinarcotics agency, supervised by the Defense and Foreign Affairs ministries.

The French expert will workwithin DNCD headquarters, in addition to having functional authority in Haiti.
