Over 1,000 cases assisted by Emergency 9-1-1 on Christmas Eve

Santo Domingo.– Presidency chief of staff Gustavo Montalvo said Friday that on December 24, from noon to midnight, the National Emergency System 9-1-1 assisted 1,079 emergencies.
On the same date last year and in the same time range, the system assisted 641 emergency cases, which shows an increase of 41%.
Montalvo said that on the morning of the 25th, from noon until 6 am, the system assisted 384 emergencies and 267 noise complaints. Of emergencies attended in the morning on Christmas, 30% involved incidents of physical assault and domestic violence.
"My congratulations to all staff of the 9-1-1 System and support agencies that work 24/7 and continue to this day to perform their duties as efficiently as ever. To all of you my appreciation," said Montalvo during a visit to the 9-1-1- system headquarters.
