CNSS to extend traffic accident coverage from January to July

Santo Domingo.– The National Social Security Council (CNSS) announced it is planning to extend the coverage of medical care for traffic accidents from 10 January to 8 July 2016, Diario Libre reported today.

According to the CNSS, the public and private health providers (ARSs) and the public hospital system (PSS) need to provide healthcare to victims of traffic accidents, the report said.

However, the ARSs sent a letter to the CNSS saying they did not accept the RD$9 per capita fee and would not honor the coverage of traffic accidents as established by the new CNSS resolution.
