Evangelicals commit to play a “leading role” in 2016 elections

Santo Domingo.– The evangelical church said on Monday it will play a leading role with a view to the general elections next year and said they are working in several municipalities to nominate evangelical candidates in order to "clean up public positions."

"The Dominican Republic is going through crucial moments. This is a year of definitions,with a political map and an important political atmosphere, and the evangelical community will play a leading role in this process," Pastor Ezequiel Molina Sanchez said at a press conference.

"We’ll be therepraying for the candidates, we will be presenting them to God, from President Danilo Medina to the rest of the various elective positions," he added.
