Opret announces new metro line test ride by April

Santo Domingo.– The agency in charge of the metro lines (Opret) on Monday announced it will test the extension of Santo Domingo Metro’s second line at the end of April 2016.

Opret deputy director Leonel Carrasco told Diario Libre that the tunnel, which he called the most complex structure of the civil works, is 100% completed and will connect the Ozama River with Carretera Mella.

He also said the new Metro bridge over the Ozama River would be longer than the Francisco del Rosario Sanchez bridge and that 70% of the work is complete.

According to the report, the stations included in this extension are located at Avenida San Vicente de Paul with Venezuela, Fernandez de Navarrete , Calle Trina de Moya and Carretera Mella.
