US resumes deportations as 100+ Dominican ex-cons return

Santo Domingo.- US Immigrationand Customs Enforcement (ICE) resumed deportation of Dominican ex-convicts on Tuesday,with 115 figuring on the first group returned this year after serving time for drugtrafficking and other felonies in American jails.
The deportees arrivedat 12:35pm at Las Americas Airport on a special flight from New York, escorted by12 federal agents who turned them over to local immigration authorities at theterminal.
The group´s arrivalcomes after US authorities had suspended the deportations of Dominican from theirterritory during the holidays.
