Danilo Medina hopes Leonel Fernandez joins his campaign

Santo Domingo.– President Danilo Medina hopes that all members of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) Political Committee, including party president Leonel Fernandez, will accompany him in the formal launch of his presidential candidacy later this month.

On his return from Guatemala, where he attended the inauguration of his counterpart Jimmy Morales, Medina was approached by reporters about the participation of Leonel Fernandez in his ceremony. "The whole Political Committee will be with me," he told reporters.

The president explained that he has already been proclaimed the presidential candidate for his party, and the ceremony that will take place on January 31 is just a formal presentation of his candidacy and the beginning of the electoral campaign.
