Candidate to ruling party: You have criminals, we have Rudolf Giuliani

Santo Domingo.- Major opposition party (PRM) presidentialcandidate Luis Abinader yesterday said he’ll present today Thursday formermayor New York City Rudolf Giuliani, who’ll advise on the plank of crime in hispolitical platform.

"While the PLD (ruling party) has criminals asadvisors, we are hiring the best consultants to combat criminals and tomorrow we’llannounce that Rudolf Giuliani, who was mayor of New York, will be ourconsultant to combat crime in the Dominican Republic," Abinader said, in reference to Joao Santana, being held in Brazil.

The candidate spoke at the PRM Convention of Delegates, whoapproved various resolutions leading to the May 15 general elections.

Among other resolutions, the convention established themethods to select the candidates for congressional and municipal posts.
