Dominicans celebrate Independence Day

Santo Domingo.– Today the Dominican Republic celebrates its 172 anniversary of Independence from the Haitians.

Today, president Danilo Medina will go to the Congress to deliver his State of the Nation speech.

All official and most private business activities will be suspended. As it is a non-working holida, it is not moved to another day.
