Just hours after praises, Medina snubs women headed to the Palace

Santo Domingo.- National Police officers blocked dozens ofwomen who staged a march from Independencia Park toward the National Palace todemand equal rights.
The police cordoned off the Delgado St. with Mexico Av. intersectionto keep women and some men from reaching the Palace, where feminist leaderSergia Galvan had affirmed that president Danilo Medina would personally receivethem
They were told however that they would be received by an unidentifiedofficial.
The women demand equal pay, therapeutic abortion, policiesto reduce gender violence and femicide, among others.
