Authorities ban alcohol sales from Good Friday to Holy Saturday

SantoDomingo.- The Interior and Police Ministry (MIP) announcedsafety measures will be increased during the Easter break andreminded that all centers that sell alcoholic beverages must remainclosed from 12 midnight Good Friday until the same time on HolySaturday.

MinisterJose Ramon Fadul also banned the use of public roads to install inflatable pools near the places where alcoholic beverages are sold.

Someof the deaths and injuries that are reported every year during theEaster holiday are attributed to alcohol consumption. According tothe authorities, the ban on alcohol sales during Holy Week is anattempt to reduce accidents and crimes.
