President Danilo Medina cancels government advertising until 15 May

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina instructed to suspend all government advertising until the 15 May elections, Administrative Presidency minister Jose Ramon Peralta announced Monday.

Peralta said the measure does not include the advertising campaign of Dominican Republic as a tourist destination, the zika virus prevention campaign and the State-owned bank (Ban-Reservas), the latter for being a commercial entity.

According to the Administrative Presidency minister, State agencies are being told not to make new contracts and suspend those in force until further notice. However, he said that all advertising bills will be paid and pointed out that the advertising made by the Government always has a social purpose.
