Dominican Republic’s most wanted nabbed in Spain

Santo Domingo.- The Justice Ministry Thursday night announcedthe arrest in Spain of Dominican Republic’s most wanted fugitive, alleged drugkingpin Pascual Jesus Cabrera Ruiz.

Cabrera was being sought in connection with drugtrafficking and money laundering and was the only fugitive yet to be apprehended.

The Justice Ministry’s Anti-money Laundering Unit said itcarries out the protocol to extradite the accused to the Dominican Republic forarraignment.

Cabrera was indicted on money laundering together with hiswife Claribel Amparo de Cabrera, in a case which also includes Pascual Cordero(El Chino), Jonas Aquies Castillo (Yunior Pañales ), the wife of Dario Gasolinaand Cristian Sención Maceo, among others.

Cabrera had been sentenced to 30 years in prison; but hewas later acquitted on October 31, 2001.

Justice minister Francisco Dominguez presented a list of 17most wanted felons on September 2015, and said Cabrera’s ring shipped drugs to variouscountries, from the Dominican Republic, and was linked to dozens of killings inturf wars.
