Yellow and green alert for 21 provinces due to intense rains
Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported Friday that 21 provinces are under yellow and green alert due to another trough over the national territory.
According to the COE, in Azua (south) heavy rains Friday morning flooded the streets of various neighborhoods as well as dozens of homes. Among the sectors most affected are La Bombita, Cañada del Concón, Framboyan and Punta de Garza. No human losses have been reported so far.
The National Weather Office (Onamet) forecast downpours with thunderstorms mostly over northern provinces and said flash flooding alerts will continue, especially for the central and northeastern provinces.
