Under pressure, Electoral Board willing to mull manual vote count

Santo Domingo.- Central Electoral Board (JCE) president RobertoRosario on Tuesday said in the next few hours the entity will discuss the demandby the opposition presidential candidates to manually count all ballots castfor municipal, congressional and presidential posts.

He said they’ll analyze the documents submitted by candidatesto be placed on the JCE agenda but warned however, that they’d never act underpressure.

Rosario Also called on the social and political groups thatwould stage a human-chain protest to maintain order all times.

He said due to the amount of the JCE’s work they cannotsuspend proceedings, but trusted that there’ll be no damage to property.
