Fresh from political win, Maduro heads to Medina’s inaugural

Venezuela’s electoral authorities on Tuesday announced it compiledthe four million signatures required for a referendum to recall Maduro, set forlate October, which makes it unlikely that the consultation would be held thisyear.

"If all the requirements of the norm (…) thecollection of signatures of 20% (of registered voters) were met it would takeplace in late October," said the head of Venezuela’s electoral council,Tibisay Lucena.

Meanwhile the Dominican Foreign Ministry on Thursday saidpresident Maduro and Evo Morales of Bolivia, have confirmed their presence.

Also Rafael Correa of Ecuador; Juan Carlos Varela, Panama;Jimmy Morales, of Guatemala, Juan Orlando Hernandez of Honduras, and JocelermePrivert, Haiti;

Also prime ministers Andrew Holmes, Jamaica; Gaston Browneof Antigua and Barbuda; Ben Whiteman, Curacao, Williams Marlin, Saint Martin andSpain’s former king Juan Carlos 1 had previously confirmed their presence.
