Expedia reinforces presence in Puerto Plata
Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic – October 4, 2016 – The Expedia group, one ofthe world’s largest online travel companies, will attend Discover Puerto Plata Marketplace, an annual eventthat promotes Puerto Plata among national and international markets, on October5 – 7, 2016 at the Iberostar Costa Dorada in Puerto Plata.
The Expedia group’s market management team ishosting an e-commerce seminar on October 4, 2016 at the Hotel Be LiveCollection Marien where the Dominican market management team will share marketdata, company announcements and product launches. Later that evening, Expediawill also host a Partner Appreciation Cocktail event to further foster therelationships forged between the company and the island’s hotel community.During both events, the Expedia group will welcome special guests, RobertoCasoni, President of the Tourism Cluster of Puerto Plata and Jose Natalio Redondo,President of the Hotel Association of the North Coast of Dominican Republic.

In addition to announcing the company’s participation inDiscover Puerto Plata Marketplace, the Expedia group reported today thatPuerto Plata showcased a noteworthy growth of nearly 35 percent during thefirst half of the year, compared to the same time period in 2015.
