Business Alliance for Secure Commerce conclave on Nov. 2

Santo Domingo.- "Risk Management: Key tosafe international trade" is the title of the 10th annual congress of the DominicanRepublic chapter of the Business Alliance for Secure Commerce (BASC Dominicana),slated for Wed., November 2 from 9am to 5pm, in the Garden Tent of the Hotel Embajador.

United States ambassador James W. Brewster willspeak to open the event while BASC Dominicana president, Erik Alma, willdeliver the keynote address, and together with Customs officials will deliver internationalsafety certifications under BASC rules, to nearly 30 companies and nationalentities.

BASC seeks to sensitize the businesscommunity on the importance of risk management and its impact as a commonfactor for competitiveness in international trade, encouraging public-privatepartnerships among representatives of unions and all actors in the supply chainon norms and global standards.
