US, Dominican agents seize 1,100 bricks of drug on south coast

Santo Domingo.- National DrugsControl Agency (DNCD) spokesman Carlos Devers on Tuesday said its agents seized1,100 bricks of cocaine or heroin early morning near the coast of Peravia province(south).

The drug was seized aboard aboat with two Dominicans arrested, although Devers said the drug is presumed tohave come from South America. "The confiscation was coordinated with the DominicanRepublic Navy, the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and other law enforcementagencies."

He said the substance was sentto Forensics (INACIF) to determine its type and exact weight adding that theinvestigation aims to apprehend others involved.
