Thousands of Dominican Republic officials are scofflaws again

Santo Domingo.- The Accounts Chamber onFriday sent to the National Treasury a list of 4,727 officials who as ofNovember 4, 2016 had yet to submit their financial statement, a violation ofthe law now normal in the Dominican Republic.
The delivery seeks to comply with the lawthat calls for withholding the wages of those officials until they comply with Law311-14 on Affidavit of Patrimony of Public Officials, the Accounts Chamber said.
The list even includes five senators and 171deputies, in addition to mayors, provincial governors, among the officials who’veyet to comply.
