Buffoonery 3.0: ‘Take your picture’ at Eiffel Tower hulk

Santo Domingo.- Santo Domingo Oeste mayorFrancisco Peña on Wednesday said today people from the Dominican Republic go toFrance to take a photo of themselves at the Eiffel Tower, but now they can do sohere.

"People from here go to take a picturein France, they should now take a picture here," the mayor told reporters.

Peña has drawn widespread scorn for unseeing halfa million pesos of taxpayers’ money to buy a 50-foot tall mockup of the EiffelTower in his city, where some streets have never been paved.

The Mayor affirms that the steel hulk, erectednext to the iconic Plaza de la Bandera, aims to "make the people happyduring Christmas," once its lights are turned on.
