East region hoteliers tap Tourism Minister ‘Personality of the Year’

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.- The East RegionHotels and Tourism Projects Association on Monday chose Francisco Javier Garcíaas "Tourism Personality of the Year," for his contributions andefforts to benefit the national economy’s most dynamic sector.

Association president Ernesto Veloz said theeast region’s most important tourism recognition takes into acccount the conditionsof all people involved in the industry and are evaluated on their work to contributeto the area’s socio-economic growth.

"For the recognition of the"Tourism Personality of the Year" the people with the greatest merit in thesector are taken into account, and on this occasion minister Francisco JavierGarcía gathered all the necessary elements and was elected unanimously by theBoard of the East Region Hotels and Tourism Projects Association," Veloz said.
