Odebrecht contracts  signed with due process: former official

Santo Domingo.-. The Office of the Prosecutor on Tuesday questioned former Public Works minister Victor Diaz Rúa for more than five hours, as part of the investigation into Odebrecht’s US$92.0 million in admitted bribes to Dominicans officials from 2001 to 2014.

When pressed by reporters, Díaz said that all the contracts he signed with Odebreht as head of Public Works complied with due process.

As head of the national aqueducts agency (Inapa) and of Public Works, the close collaborator of former president Leonel Fernandez, signed seven contracts with Odebrecht.

Diaz arrived accompanied by attorneys at the office of Justice minister Jean Alain Rodriguez at 2:58pm, and left at 8:50pm.

Rodriguez along with Laura Guerrero Pelletier, of the Office of the Special Prosecutor for the Persecution of Administrative Corruption (PEPCA), led the interrogations.
