Frenchman in ‘air cocaine’ pilots’ escape gets 5 years, RD$1.5M fine

C. Naudin. File.

Santo Domingo.- The Justice  Ministry announced Tuesday that French citizen Christophe Naudin agreed to plead guilty and to serve five years in jail for helping pilots Jean Fauret and Bruno Armand Odos flee the country, despite their 20-year prison sentenced for drug trafficking.

In a statement, the Justice Ministry said Naudin will also pay a RD$1.5 million fine for violating Migrants Trafficking Law 137-03 and the Dominican Criminal Code.

The pilots, also French nationals, were arrested in Punta Cana on the morning of March 20, 2013, as Falcon 50 jet was preparing for takeoff headed to Saint-Tropez, with 26 suitcases on board filled with about 680 kilos of cocaine.
