It’s Easter exodus for tens of thousands of Dominicans
Santo Domingo.- Tens of thousands of Dominicans are expected to continue the Easter holiday yearly exodus, to vacation outside the city and to visit friends and relatives in villages and towns across the country.
Major traffic jams began early Thursday on the Capital’s main thoroughfares, especially near bus stations.
Local media report increasing numbers of passengers at bus stations located nine kilometers north of the city center on the Duarte highway.
Many people who have to work till noon leave the city afterwards, as evidenced by the crowds gathered at bus stops.
