Flash flood warnings for most regions as downpours continue

File.

Santo Domingo.- The National Weather Office (Onamet) on Wednesday issued flash flood alerts for 12 provinces and Greater Santo Domingo, as downpours with thunderstorms continue to pound all regions except the Northwest.

It also issued warning for small craft  to remain near the coast from Montecristi in the west, to Cabo Engaño in the east, on higher-than-normal waves.

Onamet said swimmers are also warned of riptides along the beaches. “By tomorrow, the mass of air will remain humid and unstable, so weather conditions will remain unchanged.”

Forecast

Partly cloudy sky today with showers, and thunderstorms towards the northeast, southeast, central mountain range and border area, with temperatures ranging from a high of 30ºC to a low of 21ºC.
