Trough: two days of downpours, flash flood warnings

Santo Domingo.- The National Weather Office (Onamet) forecasts continuing heavy rains during the next two days,  from a trough over many parts of the country.

Onamet said the downpours could spread to other areas of the Dominican Republic in the coming days.

Meanwhile the Emergency Operations Center (COE) maintains landslide alerts in 22 provinces from swelled rivers and streams.

It issued flash flooding and landslide warnings for Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Valverde, San Cristóbal and Barahona, especially the municipalities of Polo and Enriquillo.
